IQAC- Internal Quality Assurance Cell

About IQAC :

In an Academic Administration, the total activity has to be monitored, verified and evaluated on a continual basis. In this line, IQAC is an important wing, which can perform this activity in total for its Quality attainment. This consists of group of Academicians/ Administrators from various departments of the Institution which work as per schedule and part of Academic Calendar.

In order to maintain Quality in Academic Institutions across the country, an Autonomous body, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore was formed and quality checks are made by NAAC for evaluation. It is now mandatory that every Academic Institution must have an Accredited status. Now, IQAC is the liaison between NAAC and Institution for its quality maintenance/ evaluation records.

As Quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the Institution’s system and work towards realization of the goals of Quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. For this, during the post accreditation period, institutions need to channelize its efforts and measures towards promoting the holistic academic excellence including the peer committee recommendations.

The guidelines provided will guide and facilitate the institution in the creation and operation of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The work of the IQAC is the first step towards internalization and institutionalization of Quality enhancement initiatives. Its success depends upon the sense of belongings and participation in all the constituents of the institution. It will not be yet another hierarchical structure or a record-keeping exercise in the institution. It will be a facilitative and participative voluntary system/unit/organ of the institution. It has the potential to become a vehicle for ushering in quality enhancement by working out planned interventionist strategies by IQAC to remove deficiencies and enhance Quality like the “Quality Circles” in industries.

• Develop a Consistent & Catalytic Quality improvement system that encourages the pursuits of the staff and students of the Institute.
• Promote Innovative practices for continuous improvement for effectiveness of the teaching-learning experiences of the staff and students.
• Create and develop a Learner-Centric environment of latest Technologies with Teaching and Research by hands on training of latest techniques by Development through sharing knowledge.
• Implement the strategic policies of the Management, State Government and other Central governing authorities to enhance, awareness among the staff and student community in the Institute.
